The Governor Of Florida Gambling Issues

The last press release said that the Governor Charlie Crist and the Seminole Tribe of Florida have begun to negotiate a new gambling compact in the middle of next week. This could even bring great revenues to the Florida’s state in exchange for the right of tribes to a casino games.

It is also said that the governor’s lawyers and even the tribe have met in Tallahassee for the reason discuss about their issues. This was what George LeMieux said.
He is one of the Tallahassee lawyer and a staff former chief of Charlie Crist. He will also be in the team of the Governor to negotiate.

George LeMieux also added that “The governor must re-negotiate the agreement he signed in 2007 with the Seminole Tribe of Florida because it was invalidated by the Florida Supreme Court a year ago. Since then, the Florida Legislature passed legislation that lays out the framework for what Crist should seek in his talks with the tribe.”

In this way, Florida should give the Seminoles the right to operate some slot machines outside of Miami-Dade and Broward. Another possible right that could be given the Seminoles could be to banked card games as blackjack and baccarat.
