Gambling Issue Returning To New Hampshire

The NH Union leader affirmed that it has a new budget, without any gambling‘s expansion.

Gambling proponents are decided to wait until the next year. Then, they will continue to push to pass a gambling bill to fund a state budget that could rely too much on higher taxes or even on new taxes.

The lobbyist for the Fix-it-Now coalition, Richard Killion, which worked to legalize the video slot machines said that they are going to continue to make their voices heard as are the benefits of a limited expansion of gambling.

The interests of gambling fought over the past 6 months to bring up to more than 12,000 slot machines to 3 race tracks and other 2 North Country casinos and promising in the same time around 200 million dollars in the state’s revenues.

It is said that polls show the public supports gambling. Pollster Andrew Smith admitted he has found that this kind of support is known to be a preference. In this way respondents would better see gambling than some broad-based taxes as they could be an income tax, or higher taxes.
