Here’s how roulette works: the wheel consists of slots or “pockets” numbered from 1 to 36, which are either red or black. This type of bet is a combination of the red bet and the martingale system. The difference is that this bet also includes the odd. This strategy starts off with a bet of ex.”USD1 on each the red and the odd, then each bet is treated separately. When one bet loses, it is doubled. When one bet wins, it gets set back to USD1.

The reason that this technique keeps the player in the game so long is that there is almost a 25% chance of winning both the red and the odd and there is almost a 50% chance of breaking even.

You cannot combine outside bets with inside bets to meet the table minimum. If the table minimum is five dollars you must make five dollars worth of outside bets. You could not bet three dollars on the outside and two dollars on the inside.

Red or Black?

You can make a wager on either Red or Black. If you win this bet pays even money. At first it may seem like an even bet but you have to remember that the zero and double zero are green. If you bet on Red and the ball lands on either Black or Green you lose your bet.

Roulette strategies it’s mean methods by which to play, but simply as a guide.  Strategies do not claim to mathematically beat the house at all, they usually offer simpler advice on things like setting win and loss limits.

You will notice a big table with a playing grid and a roulette wheel, sometimes built in to the table and sometimes separate. The grid has a series of numbers from 0 to 36 and in the case of American roulette, two zeros. These numbers correspond with the numbers on the wheel. The numbers are also assigned a color,  red or black .

The idea of the game is to use chips to bet money on either of the numbers either odd or even, red or black, the rows of numbers them selves or whether the ball will spin and land within the first 12numbers, the second twelve 12 to 24 or the last twelve 24 to 36.

You can also bet money in between two numbers  or in the middle of four numbers, giving you better odds.

A common one that most serious players learn early on is the Martingale or double up method. To do this start with a small amount like $1 and stick to it. Only use even bets like red and black, betting $1 a piece. If you win switch to the other color, if you lose, on the next round double your money  in order to make back what you lost. If you keep losing in a row, keeping doubling up until you are back in the game.
